IMPORTANT NOTICE
HRGB (North East Region) Annual General Meeting
SUNDAY 6th April 2025 – 2.00 pm
Dear Friends

I do hope you are keeping well, and you are planning lots of handbell ringing in 2025!

I am writing to inform you that the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the North East Region of HRGB will be conducted as a virtual event via Zoom this year.

You will recall, of course, that in recent years the AGM has formed an integral part of our annual “Dales Gathering” in Grassington.  Inevitably the inclusion of the meeting in the programme for the day has meant a reduction in the actual ringing time available. I have, therefore, taken the decision to hold the AGM as a separate event.

I am inviting you to attend this ESPECIALLY important meeting on Sunday 6th April, at 2,00 pm; the meeting taking place on “Zoom”. I do not envisage the meeting will take a great amount of time to complete.

Please do attend the AGM; it would be lovely to see you there. There will be an opportunity for you to raise any ideas or concerns you may have to the Officers attention.

The Zoom meeting log-in details will be provided a few days before the meeting using our e-NEws mailing.

ADVANCE NOTICE
“Dales Gathering” – Grassington 2025 - Saturday 10th May
It is six weeks until our spring rally in Grassington. Always a very popular event so please put the date in your diary (if you haven’t already done so) . We are proposing a '1940’S VE Day Celebration' theme this year so start thinking “creative”.  Further information and application form will be available very soon.

The 2025 'Summer Ring' is on Sunday, 13th July at Gatty Hall, Ecclesfield. The event will include afternoon tea with sticky buns hosted by your region committee.  Further information will be provided in due course.

My warmest best wishes to you all!
John (Atkinson)

Proposal to establish four groups of bands within the
North East Region
Dear Friends

You will recall previous articles in eNEws which proposed the division of teams, into groups, in the North East Region similar to those adopted for the 50th birthday mini-rallies held in 2017

As many of you will be aware, recent efforts to organise events in the region have resulted in cancellation or poor up-take.  Feedback has provided a clear indication that, in many instances, demographic influences have been a deciding factor on attendance.

The definitive list of groups can now be viewed on the region website and can be accessed by clicking on the following link Teams by Groups

I now wish to move towards considering a programme of mini-rallies in 2025 and, to this end, I would be pleased to receive an indication which teams in the groups would be prepared to host a mini-rally.  Please discuss this amongst your members and send your replies to your regional secretary Rona at ronagager@gmail.com

Please note that the proposed mini-rallies will take place every other year alternating with an autumn rally; our  spring “Dales Gathering” taking place every year.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sending my very best wishes to you all!

John (Atkinson)
Chair (HRGB - North East Region)

He always supported young ringers and financial grants are available through this fund.
